The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), in partnership with the DOST’s Advanced Manufacturing Center (AMCEN), celebrates the fourth installment of its Fabrication Festival dubbed as Fabfest 4, with a theme “Fabricating the New Normal” on January 7-9, 2021.

On January 7, we will have the FabFest 4 Conference where we discuss the dual role of fablabs. How it can help promote the growth of the local innovation ecosystem. As well as, how it functions as a hub that supports the development of the maker and creative communities in their respective areas.

On January 8, we will feature COVID 19 Response Innovations of the Fablabs. At the height of the lockdown, local makers through the fablabs pooled together resources and came up with products that will help prevent the spread of the virus. This includes automated sprays, foot baths, face shield designs when they weren't still mass produced, and more! These were distributed to frontliners across the country.

On January 9, we will feature other Fablab Innovations. As the hub for creative communities, and having the equipment to turn ideas into viable products, the fablabs have been key to prototyping new products that have been of use to both MSMEs and the public.
