This art installation is designed under the context of plastic pollution in Hong Kong, aiming at building people's sympathy on the plastic pollution issue.

The glass installation contains plenty of recycled bottles. Its shape idea comes from the aquarium, which I am trying to simulate the experience of standing in an underwater environment and have a visual impact on the aquarium scene. People could stand in the half-surrounding environment to get the experience. As a public installation, interactive elements are designed for enhancing public communication. First is the function of recycling. There is a T-shaped tube with a hole in the center, connected with the empty part of the installation for collecting and storing bottles. Also to enhance the interactive experience, the base of the area is designed into two layers. The one is built with cubes with pressure sensors, and the other layer is full of plastic wastes. When people step onto it, they would light up the interior space, and the layer of plastic bottles being stepped on could create sound effects. In the future, this design could be launched citywide and could be set in galleries, educational institutions, or science museums. Also, as a recycling installation, it could cooperate with recycling schemes and institutions.
