Mars 2030: "Mobile Non-invasive BCI Assistant"

"Go to Mars"! This is no longer a simple slogan but is gradually becoming a reality. By 2030, 10-100 people are expected to emigrate to Mars, and our story starts here…

BACKGROUND

It is now 2030 when 32 human elites land on Mars and carry out survey and construction work on Mars. While further exploring and understanding Mars, they also created the possibility for humans to emigrate on a larger scale. They are all great people on the earth, but in the face of this unknown red planet, everyone becomes small and powerless. The exploration mission carried out on the nearly 144.8 million square kilometers of red land will be completed by these 32 people and countless machines. Conducting scientific research and monitoring hundreds of thousands of machines at the same time brings immigrant workers great work and psychological pressure. No doubt they need help.

CONCEPT--What is Mobile Non-invasive BCI Assistant?

Based on the existing brain-computer interface technology and Google Glass, we present here an imagination about the working mode of Mars immigration in 2030. The improved non-invasive brain-computer interface will become their personal assistant in work and life:

On Mars, humans and machines need to cooperate to survive in such a harsh environment. One per person, Mobile Non-invasive BCI Assistant is an indispensable presence for Martian residents at work and even in daily life. With it, humans have acquired superpowers that are rare on the earth. They can not only control "all things" by their minds only and concentrate their attention but also have a clearer understanding of themselves by “being monitored”.

FUNCTION--Standing on the shoulders of giants

Non-invasive Brain-computer Interface

The current brain-computer interface devices are mostly used to help disabled people recover their physical functions, but on Mars in 2030, we give it a new definition. By detecting brain waves, the brain-computer interface assistant can know the machine that the user wants to operate and call up its operation interface. When the brain signal is detected to be abnormal, the brain-computer interface assistant will also promptly remind the user.

Compassionate AI

Compassionate AI can help people get more love and care. Especially on Mars in 2030, we cannot imagine the psychological pressure of these first tens of immigrants. They need more communication and guidance. We hope our “assistant” can be more humanized.

Head-Up Display

All feedback, including the machine's control interface and real-time feedback on brain health, will be displayed to the user through the head-up display so that they can see the important information they need without looking down.

INNOVATION

Mobility

Because one of the purposes of our design is to improve work efficiency, it shows more flexibility and practicality than the traditional BCI. Instead of being connected to a desktop, it directly changes the signal type through the chip and connects with a microcomputer that can be carried around. Therefore, people’s activities in the Mars base are not restricted.

Bionics

Using bionics in appearance, we imitate the patterns of insect wings to connect electrodes in different positions, thus making the whole device more concise and beautiful. This product breaks through the existing appearance of non-invasive BCI, making users more willing to wear it, and convenient and flexible to use it.

SUSTAINABILITY

In the use of materials, we mainly consider its anti-radiation function and its availability. Based on this, we choose two possible materials: one is the metal fiber radiation protection material, as a new fiber material, it has good electrical conductivity, thermal conductivity, magnetic permeability, and high-temperature resistance; the other material is mycelium. The fungus can almost grow unlimitedly, not only on earth but also on Mars, it is one of the few

creatures that can grow on Mars. It is a very potent biological material with a tough texture and radiation protection function.
