Do you have a recycling corner at home?

♻️ The recycling process starts when a consumer finishes a product and makes a conscious decision to have it recycled rather than throw it in general trash. Unfortunately, many a times because of mere convenience, we consumers skip this step and this is why our landfills are currently filled to the brim. Poor recycling quality often happens due to lack of education too.

♻️ The team at Design Factory@SIT, organised a workshop for colleagues from Singapore Institute of Technology to visit Plastify

and we truly learnt a great deal! Everyone walked away with a much deeper understanding of the types of plastics available in the marketplace and what are the recyclable ones.

♻️ We preach so much about sustainability in our course offerings but it’s really meaningful when we academics set aside time to see the reprocesses where plastics are washed, shredded, sorted further, melted and extruded into new recycled plastic pellets… finally produced into beautiful useful products. Thanks to Tim Xu Tianma, Jian Huei Choo, Cesar Jung-Harada, Danping Wang, Lu Shen, Ho Hung Yi, Na Yeon Ko, Aditi Neti Alfred Tan, Emily Woo, Ricci Loh, Sundar Thirumalai, Kang Liat Chuan for your enthusiastic participation.

The more recycling that is done means less environmental harm. Understand your role in the life cycle today!
