The Unreasonable at Sea entrepreneurs and their super-star mentors -- which at sea ranged from the Archbishop Desmond Tutu to Matt Mullenweg, the founder of WordPress -- met in Washington, D.C. today and yesterday for an event dubbed Unreasonable at State. With hosts that include the Unreasonable Group, the White House, the U.S. Department of State, the Institute of Design at Stanford and the Aspen Institute, the plan is to debrief the sea-faring entrepreneurs and examine how entrepreneurship and design-thinking can be leveraged to solve pressing global challenges.

The Sustainable Lantau Office of the Civil Engineering and Development Department appointed HKDC, in partnership with Land+Civilization Compositions and MakerBay, as its consultant to conduct a pilot community design research project, with the vision of identifying revitalisation opportunities for the Tung O Ancient Trail and the nearby villages. With a series of design thinking engagement activities, the ‘Touch Tung O!’ team sought to understand the local characteristics of culture, environment, and economy, so as to arrive at guiding principles for designing the trail’s sustainable future.

From metaverse and NFT art to virtual reality, Bloomberg Quicktake takes a look inside the first edition of Digital Art Fair Asia in Hong Kong. NFTs’ ability to confer uniqueness has led to a boom in digital art’s collectibility; a report from blockchain development company ConsenSys says the NFT art market surged from $52 Million at the end of 2020 to $490 Million in April 2021. And Christie’s announced in September that it had shattered the $100 million ceiling in NFT sales worldwide. Bloomberg Quicktake’s Stella Ko reports. Bloomberg

“Creativity is” wants to bring back this “belief” by starting a city-wide conversation about creativity. Participants will challenge their boundaries, try out-of-the-box practices that might seem odd – all in the attempt to rediscover traces of curiosity, courage and meaning that may in turn become a renewed source of motivation.
